Tenacious
Tenacious does indeed have a urinary tract infection - thankfully we caught it in time and he only has to be on antibiotics for 2 weeks... That should take care of the issue and hopefully no more finding him peeing in inappropriate places.
I've been busy
So, Abigail Grace was born two months ago on June 25 at 7:11 pm. She is absolutely beautiful...
We had some crazy circumstances befall us at that time. Zech was laid off on June 19, so I was induced a week early. After approximately 12 hours of labor and 2 of those being hard pushing, I couldn't push anymore and the doctor used suction to help me deliver her. I enjoyed the first 2 weeks of getting semi-waited on at home and then on July 9 at 3 am while I was feeding Abigail, I started hemorraging. 1 amublance ride and emergency surgery later, we thought all was ok and I was headed home again. That Sunday, I woke up with the chills - running a temp of 100.4 - and ended up back in the emergency room with an infection in my uterus. After 2 1/2 days of IV antibiotics I finally got to come home for good. Abigail was a trooper through it all. We have been home with no more ER visits and a clean bill of health from the doctor for 3 1/2 weeks thank Jesus.
Yesterday was Abigail's 2 month doctor's appt. so I had to watch the nurse stick my baby 3 times. Shots really suck. But thankfully she was again a trooper and the nurse let me be the good guy - I didn't have to hold her while she got her shots and I got to pick her up after and comfort. The hardest part about the rest of the day was that she didn't want to be put down at all - and she didn't really want Daddy either so I ended up holding her most of the day and I'm not entirely sure when I might actually get to go to sleep tonight since I was trying to get homework done earlier while she was actually sleeping in her bed.
We also figured out that our male cat, Tenacious, probably as a urinary tract infection. So this morning we have a vet appt to have him examined. I hope we caught it early, because apparently UTI's in cats are really bad and can cause a bunch of other problems, most of which require surgery to correct. If that's the case - I don't know what we'll do - we may have to put him down, since we can't afford to spend a lot of money on a cat right now. I don't want to have to do that - he's part of the family and is a great cat... but I don't want him to suffer either and I don't want him squatting all over my house and stuff.
Please pray that Zech and/or I find jobs - we are starting to get on each others nerves because we're together so much.
Well, I'm going to attempt to get some sleep.

20 Days left- and only a little frustration
I woke up yesterday at 4 am with pretty strong contractions - I couldn't go back to sleep so I decided to read hoping they would either go away or get stronger. It took about 3 1/2 hours but they started to get faster and stronger - about 10 minutes apart - by the time we left to head to the hospital for our childbirth class they were about 7 minutes apart, so we decided that we weren't going to go to class because getting the house ready and all of the bags ready was more important. We got breakfast and came back to my parents' house. After we ate, Zech went to our house to start cleaning and get the bathroom ready and mom and I went to Meijer to get the needed supplies for the snack back, my go bag, and to bring the baby home. After we finished the bags, mom and I went to the house to help clean - I took a nap while everyone worked on the house. At 3 I woke up and ate a taco for lunch and started paying closer attention to the contractions. They were much closer together and still pretty strong - under 3 minutes for about 45 minutes when Zech's dad really started pushing him to take me in to get checked, hoping that this was really labor and Abigail was coming. After being hooked up to the monitor for a couple of hours they drew some blood because my blood pressure was high while I was sitting up. Everything was good with my labs except that my potassium was a little low. They gave me some oral potassium and by that time - the contractions had pretty much stopped and since there was no change in my cervix - they sent us home. It's getting really frustrating and I'm getting really impatient - I just want to meet this little girl and bring her home and be mommy.

50 days and counting
One month and 20 days left until the big day, although I'm not sure we'll make it that long since we spent the early morning hours of yesterday in the labor and delivery ward making sure I wasn't going into pre-term labor. I woke up with pretty strong contractions around 5 am. They didn't stop until late last night and I've had a couple of contractions today.
We're hoping to be back in our house no later than Sunday night, which would be a very, very good thing since I need to be in my own bed.

62 days and counting
Only 62 days left until Abigail is due. I can't wait to meet her and I'm really ready to not be pregnant any more. I feel really bad for Zech - my hormones are going crazy and I'm getting incredibly forgetful and really emotional - I think mostly because I'm exhausted all the time, because I'm not sleeping well at night.
Last night we had a surprise party for my dad and I overdid it and today I feel aweful. It hurt to move most of the day and I can't seem to get any energy going... Zech and his dad got the bathtub installed yesterday and today he's working on getting the shower walls up and all of the plumbing with my dad.
School board elections are Tuesday. We're praying that Zech pulls out a win. I think we're making lots of phone calls and tomorrow we are going to canvas houses in the district to encourage people to get out and vote both for the two trustee spots that are open and also to hopefully pass the much needed bond proposal.

Pittsburg Baby!!
Gotta love a break in the routine... not that I've had a huge routine lately, but it's a vacation! Zech has a business trip to go on for the rest of this week and I get to tag along. I've never been to Pittsburg so I expect this to be really fun. We're staying at the Omni downtown, which means a lot of stuff within walking distance. On Thursday night we're having dinner with my cousins and we might even get to take in a baseball game on Friday night. Can't wait, it should be a great week!!!

Bathroom Update
So much for getting the bathroom done in one week - it looks like we'll be at my parent's house for at least another week. There is progress being made and it's actually visible, but there is still no tub, shower, toliet, or sink, not to mention walls, floor and ceiling. Last night, I stopped to get clothes and other necessities for the week at mom and dad's house and Zech was sooo excited about the progress and all of his ideas for remodeling the rest of the house. It was incredibly cute - he walked me through the whole house and described what he had already done and what he was planning to do in each room and how everything would be done before the baby comes in July. It will definitely be interesting to see how fast things actually get done. More on the house later.

Spring Break
So this week, Dad Shaulis is finishing our bathroom!!! I'll finally have a bathroom again... I spent Monday night, Tuesday, Tuesday night and Wednesday morning at Grandma and Grandpa Shaulis's house. Tuesday I got to have lunch with my sister Sarah at BD's Mongolian BBQ... it was great! Wednesday morning I went to Water Aerobics with Grandma and Grandpa. On our way home, we got a call from Jaime - Zech's cousin, saying that she had to go back home to Minnisota because Buddy - her husband, was in the hospital with 2 collapsed lungs so I came home yesterday afternoon. He's in surgery right now to re-inflate his lungs. Please pray for him. Now I get to spend the rest of the week at my parents' house. Zech's helping his dad with the bathroom today and tomorrow. Hopefully I get to move back in this weekend before next week when I get to work - yay for substitute teaching!
My unemployment finally came through - THANK GOD!! That will definitely make for less stress in the Shaulis household.

Crazy Day on Very Little Sleep
I woke up with Zech this morning and got up to make his lunch only to be told not to worry about it because he was going to come home and eat here, so I went back to bed. I probably should have stayed up, because I am completely exhausted anyway - apparently I didn't get much rest last night despite getting almost 1o hours of sleep. I think I must have been running a fever or something because I kept waking up because I was too warm.
After I got up, I managed to figure out this week's menu. We'll see if Zech actually approves. Unfortunately I already have to make some changes because we decided we couldn't do anything extra this week, so I have to come up with something for dinner on Saturday.
I met Amanda and the little boys for lunch today and we planned family nights and date night for our small group through June. It was definitely an interesting outing with two little boys, but very fun. After lunch I did all my grocery shopping for the week - at least most of it I hope. Now I just hope I can stay awake through Chuck and Heroes tonight. I desperately want to go to sleep.

Typical Saturday
I just finished making banana bread and I'm in the process of washing the dishes from the last few days since yesterday was such a lazy day for me. Unfortunately I can't finish the dishes or my laundry until the water warms up since Zech used all the hot water this morning. The cats are lazing in the small bedroom.
Zech's working on cleaning the basement so we can start moving stuff out of the small bedroom to start getting it ready for Abigail's stuff. My family is here so my dad can help Zech with some electrical stuff - I think they're hooking up some circuits or something.
Tonight we're eating dinner at my parents - Julia wants Fried Chicken and that sounded good to Zech. Thank God I don't have to cook tonight.

A Lazy Day
It's been one of those days already - I just don't feel like doing anything. There are a million things I could and should probably be doing, but today just feels like it should be a lazy day. I'll catch up tomorrow, even though I'll probably get asked why nothing got done today. I just feel like I have to remember that sometimes it's ok to take it easy and do "nothing" especially since my #1 job is to grow baby Abigail into a healthy baby.
Tonight we have RIOT at church. Yay for hanging out with a bunch of crazy teenagers.
When I went to feed the cats today, I noticed that there was a dead mouse in Tenacious' food bowl. I don't have the stomach to deal with it today, but I know I'm going to have to do something with it before I make lunch, because I definitely won't be able to be in the kitchen making lunch and seeing a dead mouse occasionally. Thank God my mom stopped by with my little brother... I didn't have to deal with the mouse - Isaac took care of it.
On a completely different note - I am so glad Spring has finally arrived - I have daffodils and tulips and crocuses coming through and even a couple hyacinths as well. This morning I also saw two robins in our backyard - a sure sign that spring is here to stay.
